Water Resource Management through Pond Restoration and Increasing ToF Cover in Tijara Block, Alwar, Rajasthan

The project focuses on the conservation, development, and sustainable management of natural resources to improve the livelihoods and quality of life of local communities in Tijara Block, Alwar. The initiative aims to strengthen community participation in water resource management while promoting increased Tree Outside Forest (ToF) cover and sustainable environmental practices.

Key Objectives

• Create awareness among community members about the linkages between water resource management, increased ToF cover, and sustainable livelihoods.

• Restore a farm pond in Dhaki Village to improve its ecological and functional condition.

• Plant 500 trees in and around the pond to increase ToF cover and enhance the surrounding environment.

• Introduce 500 aquatic plants in the pond to support water quality and ecological balance.

• Encourage greater community participation in the conservation and sustainable management of local natural resources.

Implementation Approach

The project is being implemented through a partnership between CCSE (Centre for CSR and Sustainability Excellence) and Bharat Gyan Vigyan Samiti (BGVS) as the field partner. The intervention combines water-resource restoration, plantation, ecological enhancement, and community awareness to create a more sustainable local ecosystem.

Key Intervention

• 1 farm pond restored and supported over a period of one year

• 500 trees to be planted around the pond

• 500 aquatic plants to be introduced

• Community awareness and participation in sustainable resource management
