Swachh Pathshala: Improving WASH Infrastructure in a Government Girls’ Primary School

The Swachh Pathshala initiative aims to improve the health, hygiene, and overall well-being of students by upgrading essential Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) infrastructure at a Government Girls’ Primary School in Gurugram.

The project focuses on improving access to safe drinking water and upgrading existing sanitation facilities, creating a cleaner, healthier, and more comfortable school environment for students.

Key Objectives

• Improve access to safe and clean drinking water within the school.

• Upgrade existing water infrastructure to support better hygiene and sanitation.

• Renovate the existing toilet facilities to create a cleaner and more functional environment.

• Strengthen the school’s WASH infrastructure to support student health and well-being.

• Contribute to a safer and more hygienic learning environment for girls.

Key Intervention Areas

1. Safe Drinking Water Installation of a drinking water filter and cooler to improve access to safe and potable drinking water for students.

2. Water Infrastructure Improvement Renovation of the existing water tank to improve its condition and support better water management within the school.

3. Sanitation Facilities Renovation of the existing toilet block to improve hygiene, functionality, and the overall sanitation environment.

Implementation Approach

The project is being implemented through a bipartite partnership between Art Housing Finance and CCSE (Centre for CSR and Sustainability Excellence). CCSE has engaged Impact360 as the sublet implementation agency to support project execution. The initiative focuses on strengthening essential WASH infrastructure to create a healthier and more hygienic school environment for girls.
