Project Synopsis - AMADA (India)

AMADA (India) Pvt. Ltd., in partnership with the Centre for CSR and Sustainability Excellence (CCSE) and Global Concerns India, implemented an education-focused CSR project at B K Palya Primary Government School, Jala Hobli, Yelahanka Taluk, North Bangalore. The initiative, titled “Enhancing Educational Support at a Government School to Foster Primary Student Learning and Retention in Bengaluru,” was implemented from September 2022 to August 2023.

The project focused on upgrading the school's infrastructure to support better learning outcomes, improve classroom experiences, and create a conducive environment that encourages student retention and attendance.

Major interventions included construction of six toilets, renovation of handwash facilities, refurbishment of the Nalli-Kalli classroom, and comprehensive upgrading of the school kitchen. The kitchen improvements included waterproofing, tiling, replastering, exhaust fans, painting, electrical and plumbing works.

The school play area was refurbished with a sandpit and outdoor equipment including slides, swings, jungle gym, see-saw, merry-go-round and outdoor play stations. Improvements were also made to the school pathway, main gate, boundary walls, garden area and entrance. Educational wall paintings were created across the campus, approximately 20 LED waterproof lamps were installed on boundary-wall pillars, and solar lights were provided in the garden area.

The infrastructure improvements enhanced the school's safety, accessibility and learning environment, providing students with improved physical comfort and a more supportive setting for participation in lessons.

The completed project was formally handed over to the school principal during a handing-over ceremony held on September 6, 2023, marking the completion of the infrastructure-upgradation initiative.
